da esport bet: Jurgen Klopp is happy to let Georginio Wijnaldum listen to offers in the hope that he realises how good he has it at Liverpool, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
da dobrowin: The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from the Anfield outfit in the summer, and he now has just 18 months left on his contract.

Now, it appears that Klopp will is happy for him to listen to any approaches, with him believing that will convince the 29-year-old to stay on Merseyside. The report said: “Klopp is happy for the club’s fourth-choice captain to explore his options through his representatives, mainly because that is how he has always approached such situations, believing it can often help a player subconsciously sharpen his understanding of what he already has.”
Big gamble
On the one hand, it would be hard to imagine exactly why the £45m-valued former Newcastle man – as per Transfermarkt – would want to leave Liverpool. After all, they are the European champions, and currently lead the Premier League by a huge 19 points. It is hard to see who could rival them in the coming years if they continue on this current form, and Wijnaldum could be a big part of that.
However, there could be several reasons why he would depart if the right offer comes in. Firstly, he currently earns £75,000 a week, according to Sportrac – that is less than 14 other players at the club. Given that he is a Champions League winner and a two-time finalist, he could certainly earn more elsewhere, and there could be clubs who would be willing to offer him that increase.
A more attacking role could be of interest to him as well. For his country, he has been allowed offensive freedom, and that has paid dividends – the eight times he scored during Euro 2020 qualifying was the most for the Oranje. However, in his last three seasons, including this one, he has scored just six times in the Premier League. Whilst he still has plenty of years left, he is approaching the end of his career, and he may feel stifled in a more defensive role.
Klopp may end up being proved right, but it is a risky game to play if he wants to keep him. He must hope that it does not backfire.
Elsewhere, this Liverpool man looks like he needs a rest following his poor display against West Ham.
