da apostaganha: With just five games left to play of the current domestic season, it is now looking increasingly likely that Leicester City will end the 2015/16 campaign with a well-earned Premier League title proudly residing within the unsuspecting trophy cabinet down at the King Power Stadium.
da roleta: Such a statement still remains somewhat hard to comprehend, even at this specific stage in the proceedings, but despite the admitted sense of shock and surprise, Claudio Ranieri’s determined Foxes have seemingly proven several so-called football ‘experts’ – such as the writer of this particular article, for one – categorically wrong after playing out the vast majority of the current season in a more than assured style.
Most people obviously expected Leicester to fall down with the Christmas decorations, and as even the most optimistic of Foxes fans simply couldn’t have foreseen such a dramatic run continuing, the initial lack of faith in Ranieri’s ever impressive outfit can hardly be heavily criticised without the use of hindsight.
Yet as good fortune has clearly offered an all-important helping hand in what has so far proven the least predictable campaign in Premier League history: just how much do Leicester City owe Lady Luck for their undoubtedly commendable rise to the top this season?
Well, whilst Claudio Ranieri and his side could certainly be on the verge of providing us all with perhaps the greatest fairy-tale achievement the English game has ever had the pleasure of paying witness to, Leicester have nonetheless seen a great deal of luck come their way over the past few months it must be said…
Yes, such a theory will hardly be well received by the King Power faithful – that much seemingly goes without saying – but maybe we have all in fact been somewhat blinded by the recent triumphs of Ranieri’s Foxes when all is said and done.
Several major refereeing decisions have clearly gone Leicester’s way this term in more than ambiguous fashion. The East Midlanders have managed to thrive within an arguably one-off season in which each and every one of the Premier League’s ‘elite’ sides have endured a forgettable campaign at best, and when it comes to avoiding potential season-defining injuries, Leicester have certainly proven very fortuitous indeed.
Perhaps the scene was always going to be set for a shock underdog triumph come the culmination of the current campaign, and Ranieri’s boys in blue just happened to be the lucky beneficiaries.
In addition, the Foxes have not had the distraction of major cup competition to draw their attention elsewhere this season of course, whilst seriously taking advantage of the fact that very few of their most recognised assets have been selected for international duty in 2015/16.
With all the aforementioned factors combined into one specific argument, the ‘good fortune theory’ surrounding Leicester City in 2015/16 certainly becomes somewhat less ignorable if we’re are all being honest…
Yet does any of this prior reasoning actually mean that Ranieri’s Foxes are completely undeserving of the subsequent praise and proposed success to come their way at the end of the current season? Absolutely not!
Leicester City have believed in themselves throughout the entirety of the 2015/16 campaign thus far. Although many of their Premier League competitors have had to deal with far more unavoidable long-term injuries than the Foxes, Ranieri’s players have clearly been up for the fight and wanted to show their worth out on the pitch. You make you own luck after all, right?
The playing staff down at the King Power Stadium have played to their strengths and gone about their business under a manager who has obviously learnt what it takes to be successful with every passing week. Whilst Leicester have played great football at times, they have also ground out the results like truly deserving champions on several important occasions.
So then, whilst fate has nonetheless offered the ambitious Foxes more than their fair share of luck in 2015/16, Leicester City have undoubtedly proven the best and most efficient side among the English top flight so far this season, and are more than worthy of their well-earned place within Premier League history once this increasingly captivating campaign finally comes to an end…
