da bet7k: Mateusz Klich hasn’t had the best of seasons so far.
The Polish midfielder has scored just once in the league this term and after netting double figures last campaign, his lack of goals has been rather disappointing.
It’s not just his troubles in front of goal that have been concerning either, there have been calls for the midfield maestro to be rested in recent weeks as fans have stated that his recent performances have been rather laboured and fatigued.

However, there is a chance that those lacklustre displays were down to a distraction rather than tiredness.
Klich’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season, and even though he’s a professional footballer, having question marks over the future of your employment would affect anyone’s performance.
However, the 29-year-old has just signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until at least 2024, and that may be enough to improve his showings.
The Pole will have felt under a bit of pressure as his performances were dipping at the worst possible time with his contract running down, but without those distractions related to the future, it’s possible he may rekindle the form that saw him be so successful last term.
Positivity has been lacking from Klich’s game as he seemed doubtful of his own abilities. Last week, he claimed it would be hard for him to match last season’s goal tally. He said:
“It’s going to be difficult to repeat that… I was surprised… but I’m trying my best & to play like last season. The only thing I’m missing is goals because I play a very similar game. I try to cooperate with the front 3.”
With confidence seemingly thin on the ground, this could be the much-needed boost he needs.
The faith is certainly there in him. The Poland International hasn’t missed a single league game under Marcelo Bielsa, something that represents quite the turnaround from when he was alienated under Thomas Christiansen, being sent out on loan to FC Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Klich has already come through setbacks in his spell at Elland Road and this could be the catalyst he needs to kick onto the next level.
