da fazobetai: Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez has revealed his desire to play in La Liga once again before he calls time on his career.
What’s he said?
The Mexican has been a prolific goalscorer for the west Midlands club ever since joining the club, initially on loan, in the summer of 2018.
Jimenez has racked up 32 goals in 71 appearances with 15 of those coming in all competitions this campaign as Wolves have been tasked with a vigorous yet busy fixture list.
The 2012 Olympic gold medallist once joined La Liga giants Atletico Madrid on a whopping six-year deal but could never live up to the standards that such a move commanded. He bagged just once in 28 games.
However, despite his failings, Jimenez cannot write off a return to Spain in the future, he said:
“Wolves paid £30m for me, and if they sell me it’ll surely be for more. I will keep on working.
“I would never rule out returning to Spain. I have good memories, and I would like to go back at some point.
“I want to try out La Liga once more, as I didn’t get to play much the previous time.
“Returning is not off the agenda. I have played at the Nou Camp and the Bernabeu.”

Worrying claim
The 28-year-old’s comments come at a very odd time, given it is the January transfer window next month.
Wolves’ plans could be seriously halted if they lose the £37.8m-valued striker as he’s such a vital part of Nuno Santo’s side as evident with his goalscoring record mentioned above.
He’s played a part in pretty much every single match this calendar year as the squad lacks depth with only one striker behind him in Patrick Cutrone.
It remains to be seen if Jimenez’s remarks were mistranslated or taken out of context slightly, but you’d imagine there’s very little chance that the club sell him anytime soon with their long-term ambitions only starting to gain traction.
